Authentication Card/Artist Trading Card Tests

I'm pretty satisfied with the general layouts of the cards I created. I don't see any site out there that will allow me to do short run trading cards with different images for cheap. So I decided to attempt printing them on my Epson 3880 as a test.

After trimming, I already noticed a few things.

Obviously registration of the front and back were going to be off register, but I didn't realize it would be off by that much. You can see the drastic off centering that happened to the back of the card.

I also didn't give the engraving cards a thick enough white border. Looks like it hugs the edge much too closely. I'll have to modify that.

I also tried a rounded edge cut to see if I liked the look or not.

Quickly realized that I have the wrong radius round edge punch. Doesn't look right.

I'm also noticing that I'm not giving the text enough space from the edge of the card. I'll have to modify that as well.

The last thing I checked was the fit inside the slab enclosure that I purchased off Amazon for both the card and the label.

I have a few edits to make now after these test prints. After that is done, I'll actually be setting the files up to print 2 cards on a single 4x6 post card with Moo.com. They allow unique image printing.

Once those get turned around to me, I can trim the cards down to size.

More updates to come later!
