Shadow!
One of the issues I ran into in a prior painting was how to paint details in shadows.
I ended up trying to render all the hard to see planes that were in shade but it just made everything look super messy.
So rather than trying to paint all the details I opted to paint as flatly as I could and more representationally than exact.
I think it turned out rather well. I'm also really enjoying seeing the thick paint textures.
